Sheet Metal Worker (Nights)

JMC are working with a highly respected and market leading Engineering business based in Bishops Stortford who are looking to recruit a Sheet Metal Workers to join their successful team on the Night Shift.

This is a Permanent Position based In Bishops Stortford. 39 hours per week, Monday- Thursday, 5pm- 3:30 am.

The Role

The primary purpose of this role is to produce sheet metal work components for assemblies & welded assemblies using Stretch Forming and Rubber press machinery.

Other duties involve:

·        Set up and operated large scale stretch forming machines.

·        Set up and operate forming/cutting machines including guillotine, rubber press and band saws.

·        Shape metal materials using hand tools, rubber presses, powered stretching and shrinking machines.

·        Use hand tools for sheet cutting, shaping, dressing and shaping formed blanks.

·        Develop parts from drawings and to produce detailed parts.

·        Lay out, measure, and mark materials in line with drawings or templates using scribes, dividers, squares, rules and calculators.

·        Use engineering measuring equipment to check dimensions are in line with drawing requirements.

Skills and experience required

·        Previous experience knowledge of manufacturing processes, preferably within the aerospace or automotive industry.

·        Experience using stretch forming and rubber press machinery.

·        Ability to read, understand engineering drawings and aerospace specifications
