Mechanical Fitter

JMC are working with a leading Aviation company based in Bishops Stortford, looking to recruit Mechanical Fitters to join their team.

This is a Permanent Position based in Bishops Stortford with an immediate start date. 39 hours per week, Monday- Thursday.

The Role

The Mechanical Fitters are mainly responsible for the assembly of both small sub-assemblies, and more complex structural assemblies to AS9100 and/or equivalent quality standard.

Duties involve:

·        Use air tools, rivet guns, drills, bench squeezers, pneumatic hand squeezers and manual sockets & spanners.

·        Setting and use of assembly jigs and tooling

·        Use engineering measuring equipment to check dimensions

·        Understand and follow detailed assembly drawings and specifications.

·        Mixing and use of glues and sealants.

Skills and experience

In order to be successful in this role the Mechanical Fitters will need to demonstrate the following skills and attributes:

·        Demonstratable knowledge and experience of assembly and manufacturing processes, preferably within the aerospace or automotive industry.

·        Ability to read, understand engineering drawings and aerospace specifications.

·        Ability to work in cross-functional teams to deliver parts on time.

·        Problem analysis and decision making.
