Facilities Assistant

Are you an experienced Facilities Assistant looking for a new opportunity?

JMC are working with a leading MRO Organisation based in Stansted, looking to recruit a Facilities Assistant to join their team.

This is a Permanent Position based in Stansted with an immediate start date.

Reporting to the Shop Floor Manager, the Facilities Assistant will be responsible for performing general duties within a precision manufacturing facility and maintaining the smooth running of CNC machine tools. Ensuring coolant levels are maintained, tooling and fixtures are booked in and out of stores, work areas kept tidy and safe, and goods are booked in. Opportunities to progress and be trained into other roles within the facility.

The responsibilities of the Facilities Assistant will involve:

• Ensuring machinists have coolant at the levels and concentration needed
• Tidying loose swarf off the shop floor, in the yard and around the hangar
• Disposing of and emptying swarf bins
• Managing the coolant recycling plant and maintaining optimal concentrations
• Ensuring workspaces are kept clean, tidy and safe
• Moving pallets around the facility
• Emptying waste bins and dispose of them
• Ensuring the washrooms are kept clean at all times
• Cleaning down CNC machine tools when required
• Collecting used fixtures and return to their place within Stores, book in and out as required
• Providing assistance to Stores as required including booking in of deliveries

In order to be successful in this role, the Facilities Assistant will need to demonstrate the following skills and attributes:

• Awareness of health and safety requirements
• Full clean driving licence
• Able to work overtime (including weekends)
• Forklift license is preferable
• Right to live and work in the UK
